Fresh Lamb & Goat Meat Near Lancaster, PA

It can be tough to find a butcher who really understands how you want your sheep or goat processed. Many places will accept the animal, but not all will cut the bones to the size you need, clean the stomach and intestines, or let you be there for the cutting.

Mountain Meadows was created for this purpose. We stock sheep and goats on our farm so you can come, look them over, and pick the one you want. After that, we help with slaughter if needed, then handle skinning, cleaning, cutting, and packing while you wait. Most people leave with their meat in about an hour. We only process ruminant animals and do not handle pork.

What we handle:

  • Fresh goat meat and same-day goat processing
  • Lamb and mutton processing
  • Assisted halal slaughter
  • Bones cut to one to two inches for stew and curry
  • Head cutting, skin burning, and skin removal
  • Stomach and intestine cleaning
  • Steaks, ground meat, vacuum packing, and bulk bagging
  • Goat milking

Why Customers Drive Hours for This

You can choose your animal.

We keep sheep and goats right here on the farm. You visit, look them over, and pick the one you want. This is something you cannot get from store-bought meat, and for many families, it is the main reason they come. Halal slaughter is a core part of what we do. We secure the animal for you, you perform the cut, and we finish from there. The customer acts as overseer. The process is familiar to us, and to the team, so nothing about your request will be treated as unusual.

We cut the bones small.

A detail many other processors overlook: we make sure there is meat left on the bone and cut into one to two-inch pieces so it’s ready to be cooked. This is our standard for sheep and goats.

We have more than ten years of experience working with sheep and goats.

Our team has experience working closely with customers and understands their needs. You should not have to explain your traditions to your butcher.
